Review: The D-41 is a beautiful instrument, with its extensive abalone inlay and gold plating. The scalloped bracing is very important to tone and is standard with Martins starting with the HD-28. For bluegrass flatpicking get at least the HD-28. The D-41 is the same guitar with ornamental additions. The D-41 is a great value when compared to the D-45, which has slightly more inlay and a much bigger price. Chuck Levin's (Wheaton, Md.)is the only place I buy instruments and accessories and Paul Schein is the man to talk to there.
